How big will the band be?
We are creating a six-piece band.
When are auditions?
Auditions will be held January 14 and 15, 2017.
Where will they be held?
Earl Cameron Theatre, City Hall
Do I have to register in order to audition?
We encourage anyone who is interested in auditioning to register via www.acbda.bm, however we will take walk-ins on the day of auditions. Walk-ins will not have a set audition time and will have to wait their turn.
How many pieces do I need to prepare?
Each contestant must come prepared to perform three pieces.
Do I need to bring my own instrument?
We will have a keyboard drum set and amp to plug in a base. If you play an instrument aside from the keyboard or drums, you will need to bring it with you.
Where will the band play?
The Band will play at various America’s Cup events including on stage in the America’s Cup Village, the Dock-Out shows, the AC party, etc.
What kind of music will the band play?
The Band will play soca, reggae, Top 40, traditional Bermuda songs, AC theme songs, team songs and more.
When are the second round of auditions?
The judges will select the top 20 contestants from the first day of auditions and invite them back on the second day. Those 20 will be narrowed down to 12 and the public will vote for their favourites.
How much will The Band get paid?
Those who make the cut will be offered a stipend for being a member of The Band.
Who is The Band leader?
Robert Edwards will lead The Band.
What is the criteria?
Contestants should be 16-years-old by December 31, 2016 and be a resident of Bermuda.
